Sushi Rice


  • 1 cup sushi rice
  • 1 1/4 cups water
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt

Rinse the rice until the water runs clear. Bring the rice and water to a boil. Cover and reduce heat as low as possible. Simmer for 15 minutes than remove from heat and let stand for 10 minutes until water is absorbed

Combine, vinegar, sugar, and salt in a small saucepot and heat until sugar and salt are dissolved

Spread the rice in a glass pyrex container. Sprinkle the rice with the vinegar solution and gently fold until vinegar is well incorporated. Let cool before using
