Black Bean Burgers

Ingredients

  • 1 can black beans, well rinsed
  • ½ cup brown rice
  • 1 small yellow onion, diced
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 jalapeño pepper diced
  • Cayenne pepper
  • Salt

Cook rice and let cool slightly

Throw everything into a food processor and pulse until well mixed and until the rice and beans are somewhat blended and mashed (but not totally – you want bits of bean).

Form patties (or just scoop out spoonfuls into the pan and flatten them with the spatula). Heat some oil in a pan (to help with sticking) and put patties in pan. Cook about 5-7 minutes one side (until browned) and then flip and cook 5 min on other side.
